Many great things are taking place in the SFHS Choir Department.
On May 9 and 10, Demon Choir performed its annual Variety Show in the SFHS theater. There were a variety of ensemble pop songs such as “I’m Just Ken,” “What Was I Made For?,” and “A Million Reasons.” Several soloists performed songs such as “Mr. Lonely,” “Dancing on My Own,” and “Fly Me to the Moon.”
The choir will also be singing at the robing ceremony for seniors on May 15.
After the school year is over, Demon Choir will be taking a trip to Seattle, Wash., where they will perform three songs at the University of Seattle.
Fifteen choir seniors will be graduating on May 24. To Mr. Heaton, the choir director, it’s very emotional to see them leave. “This will be my first class of seniors that I’ve had the entire four years. It’s really hard to build something up and then see people leave.” He honored them in a ceremony at Friday’s show.
A message that Mr. Heaton would like students joining choir next year to know is that they will have fun, work hard, and make great memories and friendships. “Give it a chance,” he said, “and you’ll enjoy it.”
