Jasmin Valencia is the attendance clerk at Santa Fe High. She manages the attendance records for all students, receiving calls from parents when their student needs to be absent and also excusing absences for school activities, such as sports.
Ms. Valencia started working at SFHS in 2023. She used to work with elementary students. ”I used to be a TA for pre-K students,” she said. “It’s really fun to work with small children.”
She then switched to Santa Fe High because she also enjoys working in high schools: “I like working in high schools with students around that age,” she explained. “I used to work with elementary students, which was harder.”
Ms. Valencia was born and raised in New Mexico. She attended Pojoaque High School, graduating in 2020, and then attended Santa Fe Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice. “I like criminal justice, especially criminal investigation,” she said, stating that someday she plans to become a criminal investigator.
In her free time, Ms. Valencia enjoys hiking, biking, and photography.
