The band traveled to in Portales, N.M. on Oct. 4, to participate in a marching competition at Eastern New Mexico University.

“It’s a friendly marching band contest,” explained band director Mr. Bellon. “You go for judges’ comments rather than scores, since it’s the first one of the season.  It’s what a lot of bands from New Mexico and the Texas panhandle use as their season opener.”
