Here are eight songs I’ve had on repeat recently that I would highly recommend giving a listen:
The Avalanches: “Since I Left You”
There’s something indescribably cozy and pleasant about this song. I love the flute in the background, and when all the instrumental pieces come together, it feels like magic.
Joey Bada$$ featuring CJ Fly: “Don’t Front”
}This track is a flashback to old-school hip hop. Joey’s flow is great, and the feature adds a lot. I also love what sounds like a guitar sample as the lead melody for the beat.
Nick Drake: “Place to Be”
This song is just so beautiful, man. I perceive the lyrics to be about growing up and the emptiness that comes along with it, and the whole experience feels like a peaceful type of sadness.
Playboi Carti, featuring Skepta: “Lean 4 Real”
A song to hopefully lift your spirits, Carti comes in with a catchy hook and a flow that’ll have you bobbing your head. And Skepta’s feature is welcome.
Smog: “Hit the Ground Running”
I love the guitar chords, and the overall message of the song hits hard.
Stevie Wonder: “Have a Talk With God”
Stevie’s voice is always great, and I love the harmonica on this song as well.
Kid Cudi: “The Void”
This song feels like traversing across the galaxy. Really beautiful track.
George Clanton: “Justify Your Life”
This song brings back nostalgic memories that I don’t even have.
