Back On the Court
October 2, 2019
I was playing basketball and I was playing really well, like I was scoring threes left and right. So when I got the ball, I started to run down the court to score, and as I was running there was water on the court. I saw it but it was too late. I tripped on the water and I tore my MCL.
I was in so much pain, but I still got up and started to walk. My coach was like, You crazy?” And I said, “Yeah, but I am strong.”
So I had to get to the hospital. When I got to the hospital, my mom started to tell me, “Try not to trip on water,” and I was like, “Really?” Then we all started to laugh.
The doctor said, “You’re going to get some X-rays,” and I was like, “Um, OK.” So they took the X-rays and everything was fine. She then ended up telling me, “You need surgery.” I was scared. She told me my surgery would be in one month. So after a month I went to the hospital. I was really scared. The doctor said, “It’s time,” and I was like, “Um, OK.”
After the surgery everything went fine. I felt a lot better. After two months I was still playing basketball and I was doing really well.
