Mr. Caldwell and Students Tour Europe

In June, Mr. Caldwell and his family embarked on a 16-day European tour with eight students: Mirabai Venkatesh, Lulu Sulich, Justin Reynolds, Kendall Moffett, Hannah Macias, Brooke Guevara, Serenity Gallegos, and Jessa Bulman.

Mr. Caldwell reported that the weather in Paris was cool and rainy, but the jetlag made the first-day visit to the Louvre a bit of a struggle. However, the next two days visiting the Eiffel Tower,  Versailles, and Montmarte had the students dreaming of a Parisian life after New Mexico.

From  Paris, they were off to the streets and beaches of Barcelona. From Spain, they headed back into southern France to explore Pont Guard, Nimes, the Papal Palace of Avignon, Cannes, Nice, and a jaunt through the principality of Monaco.

After southern France, the group headed to Italy, where the food was amazing but the 4-star hotel hadn’t been updated since the 1940s (beautiful views but brutal bedding and terrible food)! After doing Rome in a day (the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, Vatican City, and Trevi Fountain), they were off to Pompeii and Sorento.

The trip was capped off with a boat tour and some free time to explore the Island of Capri.
