The 2018 volleyball season is almost over and the Demon girls had a tough season against other powerhouses like Sandia High and Manzano High. As of Nov. 1, their overall record was 12-6, and their district record was 7-2.

The Demon girls will have to use a combination of confidence and performance as they prepare to face top-ranked schools at State. But first, they have to beat the last team, Rio Grande on Nov. 1.

The team knows this won’t be easy for them, but they know they will put everything on the court. ¨We have this parent that helps us in meditation before a game, a routine like taking deep breaths and getting our minds together,¨ says Leila Pierpont, a hitter and middle blocker.

On Oct. 30, the team beat rival Capital High 3-0. This was their senior night, where seniors had their last home game. But it’s not the end, as the team hopes to win their last game to gain a better seed for the state tournament.
