Robin Caldwell teaches calculus, AP Calculus, and Transition to College Math. Although she joined the staff of Santa Fe High in 2018, she has been teaching since 1987. She started teaching in Villanueva, New Mexico; she taught at her old high school in Louisiana; and she taught at DeVargas Middle School in Santa Fe. She is certified to teach sixth grade through college level math.

Originally from New Orleans, Ms. Caldwell graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in math and business, a master’s degree in math, and a master’s in secondary education (in math and English).

Ms. Caldwell said, “I was never going to become a teacher — they weren’t hiring women so much then. It was more of a second plan, but I’m glad I went through with it.” She added, “I enjoy all the fun that comes with teaching the youth of America.”

Outside of being a teacher, some of Ms. Caldwell’s hobbies include gardening and yard work. She also has a successful daughter who is a nurse practitioner and grandchildren who are very active in their high school sports.

Ms. Caldwell goes by the motto, “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming.”
