The school spirit is real — homecoming has arrived!

Dance tickets are now being sold for $10 each, cash or credit only. They can be purchased on the plaza or in Karen Hare’s office, which is located in Student Services.

At the assembly on Thurs., Sept. 13, the following students were named to the Homecoming Court: Homecoming Queen, Marielena Esperanza; Homecoming King, Santos Andrew Leyba; Junior Princess, Megan Tanuz; Junior Prince, Trent Jones; Sophomore Princess, Kanisha Alvarez; Freshman Princess, Alisha Lucero; Freshman Prince, Elijah Martinez.

“Homecoming is a really good experience, especially if you have a group of friends to be with,” said Amber Lujan, a sophomore. She added, “It is a bit crowded.”

For Spirit Week (Sept. 17-21), the themes are Disney Day (Monday- dress as your favorite Disney character); Meme Day (Tuesday- dress as your favorite meme); Frat Day (Wednesday- dress to impress your frat); Throwback (Thursday- dress as your favorite past era); and Demon Spirit Day (Friday- show school spirit and dress in blue and gold).

“I think Homecoming is disorganized, but the game is always exciting,” stated Ian Salazar, a senior.

The Demon vs. Spartan football game will take place at Ivan Head Stadium at 7 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 21, Santa Fe High will be battling Bernalillo. (There is a small entrance fee for the game.) Go Demons!
