      Sidewalk Chat: What Can Be Done to Make Schools Safer?

      “The only way to improve safety is to change and improve gun safety laws. For example, at gun shows and auctions, sell guns [only] with an extensive background check and a psychological test to see if the person is stable. I think raising the gun age from 18 to 21 may not approved be at the national level [but] if New Mexico did this, it would be helpful. … I feel that giving teachers guns is not a good idea since a student could overpower the teacher and get the gun. … Younger people showing their voice is important. … Teenagers are showing that we as young people can make a change.”
