Glenda Thompson, an English teacher who joined the staff at Santa Fe High in 2016, has taught mostly English from eighth grade to twelfth. When she lived in Alaska she had to teach every subject, because there were only two high school teachers.

Originally from Missouri, Ms. Thompson earned her master’s degree from UNM. Ms. Thompson says, “I started teaching because I dropped out of school and wanted to make it better for other people.” Ms. Thompson explains that what she enjoys the most is “seeing people get it, that moment when they go, ‘Oh, I get it!’ ” She has taught in New Mexico, Alaska, Switzerland and Azerbaijan.

For fun she likes to garden and go camping.

Ms. Thompson has two grown children. Her son is a teacher and her daughter is a restaurant manager. She enjoys working with her students!
