Ray Holladay was born in Silver City, NM. He attended Western New Mexico University and got his bachelor’s degree in special education.

Coach Holladay is the football coach for the famous Demons. He said he wanted to be a coach because “I wanted to be a mentor like when I went to school and how my teachers did for me.”

What he loves about his job is interacting with kids and teaching them “to put other goals ahead of themselves and to work together.”

In his spare time he likes outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and hiking. He especially enjoys hunting elk, turkey and deer with a bow and arrow.

When Coach is not at work or outdoors, he’s with his family. He has three kids — Mario, Tatum and Norah. Mario graduated from Santa Fe High and is now attending UNM. Tatum is in sixth grade, and Norah is in second grade. His wife teaches English at Capital High.
