NJROTC Executive Officer Shyanne Romero took first place in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest.
Shyanne, a senior, wrote an essay on this year’s topic, “What Are the Greatest Attributes of Our Democracy?” She then made an audio recording of her essay.
She read her essay at the VFW awards banquet on Jan. 6, where she was presented with a plaque and a $1000 scholarship.
