SFHS Studio Art student Mamie Hess had her watercolor piece, “Mirrored Reality,” accepted by Scholastic Art.  Taken from a photo she took in New York City, she received a “Silver Key” award.

According to studio-art teacher Ms. Andrews, established in 1923, Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the nation’s largest and longest-running (and most recognized) literary arts program for students in grades 7-12. Gold key awards go on to compete for a National Medal Award.
