Mr. Kampsky teaches AP U.S. History and regular U.S. History; he also teaches one of the two yearbook classes. He joined the staff of Santa Fe High in 2018 after teaching for seven years in Ruidoso.

He went to the University of New Mexico where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.

Originally from Ruidoso, New Mexico, Mr. Kampsky said he enjoys teaching; he loves being around kids and helping them learn something new. His sister, mother, aunt, and great-aunt are all educators as well, so going into the teaching field was a natural next step.

Mr. Kampsky is also the girls JV basketball coach and head boys and girls golf coach. He’s been a coach since he began teaching. He didn’t want to be a basketball coach when he first started teaching but now he loves it. He said, ¨It’s nice seeing kids being good at something outside of the classroom.¨

If Mr. Kampsky weren’t teaching right now, he said he would be traveling the world. “For fun I like to do what you guys do — play basketball, play golf when it’s nice out, hang out with friends when I can,” he said.
