Disney has developed an important role in the film industry. For generations, children have become familiar with their most iconic films. So why are the classic cartoons being remade?

The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Mickey Mouse jump-started the company.

Disney’s first remake was 101 Dalmatians, in 1996. (The original, an adaptation of the novel by Dodie Smith, was released in 1961.) The remake broke box office records, and the idea of recreating moves became more of a popular thing.

Cinderella, which was originally released in 1950, has been remade several times: Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True; Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time; Cinderella Castle; Prince Charming Regal Carousel; L’Auberge de Cinderella; Cinderella Suite; and Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Another classic movie is The Lion King, which was released in 1994. It has had two sequels, and the remake will come out in July.

These films are examples of how Disney keeps remaking the same movies, varying from animation to live-action films. But what is the reason behind remaking the same films?

The main reason that Disney remakes these films is to update old content to create entertainment that is relevant to newer generations. According to Newstatesman.com, Disney thinks that people who already liked the films would pay money to rewatch them in another form and capitalize on this.
