It’s back! For those who have been waiting to get some hits in on that punching bag, the boxing club is back and better than ever, with improved materials and exercises. The first meeting for new members will be Oct. 17 during lunch in the boxing gym in ROTC/Activity Center.

Boxing is one great way to get out anger or stress in a positive way. It’s also great for simply learning how to box the correct way.

“Santa Fe High School’s boxing club is a great program,” says Bryanna Arellano, one of the club leaders. She is just one of the people excited about being able to box again.

When boxing club is during lunch, food will be provided from the cafeteria, but students can bring their own as well. The club is usually held during eighth period. Dues are $25 a month, which includes professional coaching by Pat Holmes, as well as gloves and wraps. For more information, talk to Coach Walukas in BC-103.

Boxing Club Rules:

  1. Be a good person: Be a role model for your peers. Fighting will not be tolerated and will result in expulsion from the club.
  2. Be a good student: Go to class, try to learn, and get decent grades.
  3. Be a good boxer: Arrive on time to practice, be prepared, and train hard.
