Demon football lost 41-0 to the Horsemen on Sept. 28. in the annual crosstown rivalry game.

With Santa Fe High coming into the game 2-3 and St. Michael’s coming in 1-4, nobody really knew how the game was going to turn out.

The first quarter was rough for Santa Fe High, with St. Mike’s scoring 14 while leaving Santa Fe scoreless.

The second quarter wasn’t any better, with the Horsemen scoring another touchdown to make the score 20-0.

The second half was just dominated by St. Michael’s. They not only stretched the lead by scoring, but also by holding the Demons scoreless.

While nobody knew how the game would turn out, it was a surprise that Santa Fe High was trounced by 41 points.

“I can wish for all the ‘ifs’ in life, but I’m tired of wishing for them,” said head coach Andrew Martinez.

Santa Fe High plays Aztec Friday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. in Ivan Head Stadium.
