Yolanda Diaz

Yolanda Diaz started teaching PE at SFHS in the fall of 2009. Since then she has worked as an athletic trainer, softball coach, and substitute teacher here. She is now a co-teacher in the special education department. She said she loves having a great impact on kids so they can continue to have a bright future, adding that she has “many more years to go” as a teacher.
Ms. Diaz is a former Santa Fe High student and athlete who graduated in 1995. Soon after, she began to pursue her career in athletic training. She earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from UNM in 2005.
Ms. Diaz said she enjoys Santa Fe because her family is here and she loves the culture. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends and enjoys watching and participating in recreational activities. Ms. Diaz does not have kids, but said she often treats her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
