Damon Laemmle

Damon Laemmle is a social worker here at SFHS and also at other schools. Born and raised in Santa Fe, Mr. Laemmle attended Santa Fe High School for ninth grade but then transferred to St. Michael’s and graduated in 1984. He attended UNM for a short time and then graduated from New Mexico Highlands in 2000 with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work.
“I really enjoy working at Santa Fe High with the staff and kids,” Mr. Laemmle said, adding that he enjoys his job here mostly because he gets to meet new people, work with people, and help people.
Mr. Laemmle enjoys coaching basketball and track. He used to coach track at DeVargas Middle School, but now coaches at El Camino Real and Milagro. He also coached basketball at DeVargas, Monte de Sol, St. Michael’s, Tierra Encantada and SFHS.
The most important thing for Mr. Laemmle is spending quality time with his family and friends although he does enjoy doing a wide range of activities.
