The Amnesty International Club is a space for young people to join the movement for human rights.
Amnesty holds meetings twice a month in Ms. Bunker’s room, on the second and fourth Tuesdays. In these meetings, they discuss political issues and rights, fundraising for the causes they support, and possible places to volunteer.
They are currently selling snacks in Ms. Bunker’s room at lunch to raise money for the Food Depot.
The Amnesty Club has recently decided to branch out into volunteering as well as accepting donations of blankets and jackets that will be donated to Pete’s Place and the Santa Fe Animal Shelter.
The club is currently working to better our local community and hopefully, in the future, will branch out into international causes. They are dedicated to making a change in whatever way they can and are always looking for new people to join their club!
