Welcome to the Botany and Sustainability Club, where students work to promote plants in many ways. They educate youth on plants, have their own plants (including plants of the week) and show different plant species. They also work with plants outside of school and try to keep our campus clean.
The club meets every other week on Thursdays in Ms. Noonan’s room (SCI-423).
Ms. Noonan, who started the club in August, said she and her student volunteers have made a lot of progress. They have gotten a greenhouse on campus, where the plants are kept, and they are working to get it winterized.
The club is working to create a mural at Rancho Siringo Park, on a wall that has a lot of graffiti on it. They also have held events for families with free planting materials and seed swaps.
Future goals for the club include finding people to take it over when the current leaders graduate and getting a garden planted by spring time.
