Santa Fe High’s boys’ and girls’ golf teams have excelled in two recent tournaments.

Freshmen Jaiden Carrillo led the field on April 6, winning outright individually with a score of 82, and sophomore Lauren Martinez-Sandoval had another top-five finish with a tournament-winning score of 88 at Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe.

The girls team finished first at Arroyo del Oso in Albuquerque on April 10, beating second-place Cibola High by 20-plus strokes. Junior Karen Tian won outright individually with a tournament-low score of 82. Lauren Martinez-Sandoval tied for third place overall with a score of 105.

Coach Jason Kampsky added, “Scoring was up across all competitors from all schools.”

The teams will also compete in tournaments on April 17, April 19, and April 21. The district tournament will be May 1.
