Seniors Jacob Mirabal and Truitt Lemon competed at Camp Perry Ohio in the JROTC All-Service marksmanship national championship over spring break.

The qualification process began in December with more than 6,000 students competing in a series of competitions, whittling down to the top 140 individuals nationwide drawn from Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine programs. According to Chief Stapleton, Truitt and Jacob placed “mid-pack.”

This was Truitt’s fourth consecutive year qualifying for nationals, and Jacob’s second.
“Congratulations to Jacob and Truitt for making the cut,” Chief Stapleton said.
