“Band is an art class, a fun activity, and a family of students and parents,” band director Todd Miller says. “We work really hard but have fun doing it!”

The band season begins in late July and ends at the graduation ceremony. The band meets as a regular class in addition to rehearsals in the afternoons and evenings depending on the time of year. 

According to Mr. Miller, there is a wide variety of skill levels in the Demon Band.

The band works as one program but is separated into different divisions: winds (brass and woodwinds), percussion, and Color Guard. A jazz band has also recently been created that meets during zero period. 

Currently, band students are preparing either solo or group music performance assessments (MPAs) for early May. 

Mr. Miller and the band students are also beginning to prepare next year’s field show.
