February 27, 2020
Demon boys basketball dominated the Capital High Jaguars in the regular-season district tiebreaker game 67-62 on Feb. 24. Hosted at the Santa Fe Indian School, the gym was sold out, with every seat being packed.
The team is now ranked fourth in the state and first in district play.
The first quarter was very close, with a score of 21-17, with the Demons winning. The second quarter was the weakest for the Demons, but the team got back on track in the third and fourth.
Jordan Campos and “JB” were the two top scorers in the game. Fedonta “JB” White, a junior, scored 28 points, with six of those being free throws, showing his dominance in the game this time around.
Mr. Marano says, “It has been almost 40 years since we have won back to back district regular-season championships.”
The next game will be Sat., Feb 29, when the Demons play the district championship at Santa Fe High.
