How It’s Being Spun: Center

What sets this apart from other events in the Russia investigation is that while it is testimony of a Trump official meeting with Russians to discuss policy, there are still a lot of unknowns due to the concealed nature of the testimony and due to Carter’s pleading the Fifth. This has led to gaps in information in regard to the full details of what occurred on the trip to Russia. While speculation being represented as fact has been less prevalent in politically-centrist reporting than in left-leaning reporting, it is still an issue. (The reason right-leaning outlets avoid this is simply because they don’t focus on the trip, and choose to omit rather than infer and postulate information.) Nonetheless, it is important to differentiate between what probably happened, what is believed to have happened but has yet to be confirmed, and what is absolute fact.
