This season for the SFHS boys varsity soccer team has been a pleasant surprise for many. According to MaxPreps.com, the team’s overall record as of Oct. 16 is 7-6-3. Their next game is against Albuquerque High on Oct. 21, which is undefeated.

On Oct. 10, in a home game against Los Lunas, fall was in the air and the players were out there giving it their all on that chilly October evening. The game ended in a tie in overtime (1-1), and Ethan Earnest was named the player of the game for the Demons. Attendance was disappointing, so the school is encouraging the Demons to show their DEMON PRIDE and SPIRIT and support the boys varsity soccer team.

Coach Eadie shared his thoughts on how the season is going: “It has been a pleasant surprise. There were a lot of injuries and players not playing, so I had to play a lot of the young guys, and they have really stepped up to the challenge.”

The team averages 1.8 assists per game, 2.4 goals per game, and 4.6 saves per game. In total, they’ve scored 34 goals this season. Three of the games have ended in a tie following overtime.

Despite the adversity that the team has faced, they still have a winning record and look to finish their season strong. The last game of the regular season will be Oct. 26, at Rio Grande.
