SFHS Clubs 2020-2021

Here is a list of clubs, organizations, and sports that are currently being offered at SFHS at this moment. Other clubs may continue after we are allowed back to campus but in the meantime. You will find the list with the club name, the day they meet for some of them, and the contact person or persons. Also attached is the name of the Athletic Administrative Assistant if any of you are wondering about SPORTS.

Student Government (StuGo)…Meets Every Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Student Government is a group of students that are charged with managing a wide range of
events, activities, programs, policies, initiatives around the school. (Homecoming, Prom, Assemblies, Pep Rallies, awareness campaigns are a few examples) Some members are elected in and some are appointed in to help with specific tasks and areas.

SLAC (Student Leadership & Advisory Council).. meets every other Friday during lunch when we return. For remote, we will meet once a month as needed.

Senior Mentor Program …open for any senior. Meets as directed by the Mentors and Sponsors.

Thespian Club…meets from at 12:30 to 1 pm on every other Wed. starting Sept 9. A student-run Honors Society that helps facilitate the operations of the theater. The students play games, run the box office, usher, hold fundraisers (such as movie nights), design posters, and other things to help the award-winning SFHS Theater go smoothly. Science Club… Welcome, all Science Club members. We will have our first Science Club meeting on Wednesday, September 9 at lunch. At that time we will elect officers. I am hoping to do some nice field trips as well as complete this year. We will, of course, follow all Covid-19 requirements and safety during the course of the year and I suspect some of our competitions will be fully online. All grade levels are welcome and we hope to make this a very good year in spite of Covid restrictions.

Youth & Government…Thursdays @ lunch. This club adds a new level of experience-based learning on how state government works. Students will learn how to draft and debate bills, the state judicial system, and the media. They will develop core skills such as leadership and public speaking at a Model Legislature
