After being announced as finalists in early April, the Santa Fe High Supercomputing team SFHS-3 (Urban Installation of Smog Reducing Materials: Ramona Park, Theo Goujon, Lisel Faust, and Rowan Cahill; mentored by Hope Cahill) presented to finalist judges on Mon., Apr. 24, and were announced as the 2017 NM Supercomputing Challenge Champions on Tue., Apr. 25.

Each member on the winning team received a check for $1000 sponsored by Los Alamos National Labs, and an additional $50.00 per member for becoming finalists.

The school’s other team, SFHS-2 (Emergency Evacuation Efficiency at Santa Fe High School: Micah Sulich, Marisa Tedori, Daniel Onstott, Luke Shankin, and Lileigh Thomas) won the crowd favorite award for their project and display board, and was awarded a total of $250.00.

In addition, Micah Sulich, a senior who will be attending NMTech in the fall, won a $2,400 scholarship.
